Stollen Birthright

Every child born in America is an immediate robbery victim.  His or her most precious possession, the birthright of freedom and liberty is being stolen.  The thieves are in the house, and the silverware is already missing.  If someone doesn't stop them before they get away, our freedom and liberty will be gone, perhaps forever.

I am an American.  Unlike our current President, I am a naturally born American and my parents were born here, their parents were born here, and most of their parents were born here.   I am descended from Americans over many generations.  And unlike our President and his wife I have always taken great pride in my country.

As an American I have a birthright.  That birthright is the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, and the United States of America as defined by those documents.  America belongs to me.  It is my birthright, and no one is going to take America away from me without a fight.

America is a republic.  It is not a democracy.  America is not run by mob rule.  In America the mob, regardless of how large, is constrained by the terms of the Constitution.  Neither the voters nor their elected representatives have the right to abrogate, ignore, or violate the Constitution.  My rights under the Constitution are inviolable, and no political party, group of politicians, or court can take them away from me no matter how many votes they got in the last election.  Neither my rights nor the Constitution can be voted out.  The Constitution can be amended, but only on initiation by two-thirds of both houses of Congress, or two-thirds of the States, and ratification by three-fourths of the States.  That is an extremely high level of protection against unwarranted changes.  Those protections are in the Constitution for my benefit.  I will not surrender them peaceably.

Freedom and liberty are not mere abstractions.  A person is either free or not.  There are freemen and there are slaves.  There is nothing in between.  Partially free, or partially enslaved are meaningless terms.  The only legitimate laws limiting the actions of freeman are those specifically designed to prevent one freeman from injuring another.  Any other law is an enslavement.  It doesn't take a genius to see how close to slavery we've come in America today.

We have government attempting to control almost every aspect of our lives.  And now we have government proposing to directly enslave the American people with clearly unconscionable laws and regulations.  When the government says you can't use incandescent light bulbs in your home, gives your money away to pay other peoples' mortgage obligations, and drafts you into "volunteer" services, you are no longer a freeman.  You are a slave.  When the government buys into private enterprise with public money, and then presumes the right to dictate terms of employment in the private sector, the workers are enslaved.  When the government proposes to infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms, the people are enslaved.  When the government seizes control of the economy and replaces capitalism with socialism, an entire nation goes into slavery.

Some of these things have already happened.  The others have been proposed by our government.  This is not the America of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.  This is not our birthright as Americans.  We need to stand up and speak out against what's happening.  We need to stand shoulder to shoulder in opposition to those who are doing this to us.  We need to take back what's been stolen, and lock these thieves away where they will never be able to steal from us again.

While we are fussing and fuming, they are sitting in the Oval Office, on their Senate and House seats, on their committees, and in their bureau offices laughing at us.  We have to get mad, and we have to get moving.  We are quickly running out of time.
